Taupo to Taumarunui

We drove from Taupo to Taumarunui via the National Park.

The magnificent views of New Zealand's largest volcano were completely hidden from us by the clouds. Apparently it's a spectacular view just behind this ski chateau:

Please notice the name if this village. Remember that "wh" is pronounced "f".

Amy & Oliver,
This site is really beautiful and its great to be able to catch up with your adventures - thank you for sharing it.
The US is currently partying in the super bowl style, Feb. is showing it's windy side. The caucus is Tuesday, so we'll be picking whether to stand in Hilliary or Obama's circle.
I'm headed back to Chile in a couple weeks for a bit of summer time. I'll wave over your direction :-)

Mike,

Now we know which Mike we're talking to. Like Monkey. Great to hear from you.

Have a great time in Chile. Maybe you could stop by here and compare the volcanoes.

Take care,
O
