so this is the south island, yes? are they distinguished by names, or do people just say the south and north island? are you feeling more at home here than the north? is the feeling much different or do you think a part of it is your becoming accustomed to new zealand itself? jenn

Jenn,
The South Island, as it is referred to, is quite different to the North Island. The South Island is much more laid back and has the spectacular scenery. We feel more at home on the South Island.
